Glashütte Original unveils PanoMaticCalendar “Blue of Dawn” Limited Edition

Glashütte Original expands its PanoMaticCalendar line with the Blue of Dawn edition in platinum and blue dial. Limited to 150 pieces. Price: €44,300

Glashütte Original expands its PanoMaticCalendar line with the new “Blue of Dawn” edition, a limited series of 150 pieces crafted in platinum and distinguished by a cut-out dial in a deep shade of blue.

This latest creation follows the inaugural models introduced in 2022: the red gold version with a silver opaline dial and the platinum edition with a galvanic black openworked dial.

Transparency remains a defining trait of this annual calendar, housed in a 42 mm x 12.4 mm platinum case. The extensively skeletonised dial, finished in a rich blue with a refined “vinyl” texture, provides fascinating glimpses of the elaborately decorated movement beneath. 

Alongside the off-centre hour, minute, and small seconds displays characteristic of the Pano family, the dial incorporates a retrograde month display positioned between 3 and 6 o’clock. Here, twelve recessed numerals are arranged beneath a tinted blue sapphire crystal arc, while a discreet ring ensures that only one numeral is highlighted at a time. 

The Panorama Date appears at 4 o’clock and requires adjustment only once a year, on March 1st, while the moon phase indication at 2 o’clock stands out with its hand-crafted dark blue starry sky.

Applied white gold indexes, luminous dots with Super-LumiNova, and blued hands enhance legibility against the layered transparency of the dial. 

From the dial side and through the sapphire crystal case back, the finely decorated Calibre 92-11 can be admired. This automatic movement beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and offers a generous 100-hour power reserve. 

Decorations include Glashütte stripes on the rhodium-plated three-quarter plate, bevelled edges, polished steel components, and heat-blued screws. 

The movement is also equipped with a silicon balance spring, resistant to magnetic fields and temperature variations, ensuring excellent rate stability and precision.

Completing the ensemble, the watch is offered with a Louisiana alligator leather strap or a high-quality fabric strap, both in coordinated shades of blue.
