Lebois & Co unveils the Heritage Chronograph Atelier 'Coquille d’Oeuf'

Independent brand Lebois & Co presented the Heritage Chronograph Atelier Coquille d’Oeuf, the first in a new series of traditional chronographs paying tribute to the Métiers d’Art of Swiss watchmaking.

The new model highlights the art of Grand Feu enamelling used for the dial, crafted in Le Locle, Switzerland, by Donzé Cadrans, one of the world’s most respected enamel specialists, using traditional century-old techniques.

The name Coquille d’Oeuf — French for “eggshell” — refers to the soft, warm dial hue, evoking both timeless elegance and the natural tones achieved through this age-old technique.

The dial is composed of three parts: a main plate with two individually recessed subdials, each produced separately and soldered into place.

Every surface is hand-coated with enamel powder, fired at over 800 °C to fuse the glass to the copper base, then built up in multiple layers to create depth and maintain tension balance.

The graphics — logo, scales, numerals — are pad-printed by hand using enamel-based inks, with each colour applied separately and aligned with sub-millimetre precision before a final firing permanently bonds the markings to the surface.

The resulting dial displays a glowing texture that no other technique can replicate. The colours are permanently fixed to their metal base.

Protected by a double-domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the inner side, the dial also features a vintage-inspired pulsation scale, a functional detail rooted in the heritage of medical chronographs.

The 316L stainless steel case measures 39 mm x 14.3 mm and features rectangular chronograph pushers. It houses the hand-wound column-wheel chronograph calibre LC-450, developed in collaboration with Manufacture AMT, a high-end movement maker based in La Chaux-de-Fonds.

The large blued column wheel is visible on the left side, while on the top right the balance wheel operating at 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) with a power reserve of 60 hours.

The watch is paired with a brown leather strap secured by a stainless steel pin buckle. The Lebois & Co Heritage Chronograph Atelier 'Coquille d’Oeuf' (ref. 324.551) is available exclusively by souscription, a historic approach to watchmaking where clients secure their timepiece before production begins.

In 2025, just 25 examples will be produced, each made to order for its future owner. The price is €9,800 / US$10,950. lebois.com
