First introduced in 1993, the Landmaster series was designed by Seiko to meet the needs of adventurers and mountaineers, thanks to its robustness and excellent performance. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of this line, the Japanese watchmaker presented a new creation that carries the legacy of generations of Landmaster watches from previous decades.

The new Prospex Landmaster SLA071J1 features a 42 mm x 12.7 mm titanium case, a material known for its excellent corrosion resistance and lightness, treated with an extra-hard coating to protect it from scratches.

The compass ring and bi-directional rotating bezel, hallmarks of the Landmaster series, are three-dimensional in shape, designed for ease of use and visibility. Waterproofness is guaranteed up to a pressure of 20 bar (200 metres / 660 feet).

The three-dimensional indices and compact hands ensure clear timekeeping, even in low-light conditions, thanks to their Lumibrite coating. The sapphire crystal with Seiko's patented super-clear coating guarantees high legibility from any angle.

The dial, with its distinctive blue gradient, represents the view from the summit of Mount Everest. The dial's colour expresses how the sky gradually transitions from a light blue shade to a darker one as the climber ascends.

The solid case back features the inscription "Limited Edition" and the individual watch's serial number.

This model is powered by the in-house developed 8L35 caliber, a self-winding movement made by Seiko’s watchmakers in the Shizuku-ishi Watch Studio in Morioka, in the north of Japan. Beating at 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), it guarantees an accuracy of +15 to -10 seconds per day and offers a 50-hour power reserve.

The bracelet is equipped with a feature that allows for easy length adjustment, allowing the watch to be worn over a heavy clothing. The distance between the lugs is 20 mm.
