Following the launch of the Continuum Titanium Edition One in 2021, Romain Gauthier presented a second, even sportier, edition.

Renamed C by Romain Gauthier, this collection is the result of more than 17 years of know-how acquired through the development of the brand and its manufacture and combines the technical nature of Romain Gauthier creations with a causal and contemporary style.

The new C by Romain Gauthier Titanium Edition Two comes in a 41 mm x 9.55 mm case entirely made out of black Grade 5 titanium. Case, lugs and buckle have been coated with a technical ADLC treatment allowing a black finish. This carbon-based coating reinforces the scratch and shock resistance, as well as being hypoallergenic and resistant to chemicals products and solvents.

Fitted with a red rubber ring around it, the crown is positioned at 2 o’clock to free up space for the wrist movement.

To create its distinctive geometric profile, the bezel is first machined into a round shape featuring a circular bevel before six straight sides are cut into it to create 6 facets. While these facets, which have been polished, reflect the light and bring the bezel to life, the rest of the bezel absorbs light thanks to its satin-finishing.

Also made in black Grade 5 titanium, the dial has a sand-blasted finish and has been treated with a special coating that protects it against UV rays. It is characterised by several original details: the hour-minute hands off-centred on the horizontal axis, the hour indices of varying lengths, the 5-second intervals of the small seconds at 7 o’clock marked by tapering bright red lines of differing lengths.

The hands, as well as the applied hour markers and numerals, are made from 18k white gold and filled with red Super-LumiNova for improved legibility and enhanced sportiness.

The same facetted design of the bezel is found around the sapphire crystal on the back of the watch. The design of the in-house hand-wound movement is inspired by the finger bridges style – historically typical of the Vallée de Joux, Romain’s birthplace – but reinterpreted in a contemporary way.

These bridges feature a ‘stepped’ shape that provides volume and depth and are made from black Grade 5 titanium boasting contrasting tones and textures thanks to a variety of hand-made finishes. The movement main plate beneath has been hand frosted.

Beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz) and offering 60 hours of autonomy, this 154-part movement features a stop-seconds – or hacking seconds – mechanism, allowing the wearer to set the time exactly according to a reference time.

Matched to a rubber strap with titanium pin buckle, the watch is water resistant up to a pressure of 50 metres / 166 feet.
