Richard Mille concludes its RM 07-01 Coloured Ceramics series with the 2026 edition, marking the final chapter of a collection first introduced in 2021.
This new release is presented in three versions, each limited to 50 pieces, and introduces gem-setting to a line that has consistently explored the interaction between colour, materials and surface treatments.
The origins of this approach can be traced back to the first Coloured Ceramics models presented in 2021, already combining ceramic cases, multi-material dials and guilloché decoration in a distinctive composition.
The composition of the dial reflects this approach through the combination of multiple decorative techniques. Executed in grey PVD-treated 5N red gold, it integrates coloured ceramic elements finished to tight tolerances, laser-cut rubber appliqués and diamond-set components mounted in white gold inserts.
Guilloché decoration further enriches the surface, with finely traced patterns produced on a manual rose engine, creating subtle variations of light and shadow.
The result is a balanced interplay between structured geometry and more expressive elements, an approach further developed in subsequent iterations of the collection, including the 2023 edition inspired by the Memphis design movement.
The three models are distinguished by their TZP (tetragonal zirconia polycrystal) ceramic bezels, presented in blush pink, lavender pink and powder blue.
Composed of more than 95% zirconia, this material combines high hardness, scratch resistance and long-term colour stability, while requiring complex machining with diamond tools to achieve the desired forms.
Within this framework, the RM 07-01 TZP Blush Pink, RM 07-01 TZP Lavender Pink and RM 07-01 TZP Powder Blue introduce gem-setting to the collection, a technically demanding process given the properties of the ceramic and the precision required to secure each stone.
The case measures 31.40 mm by 45.23 mm with a thickness of 11.85 mm and combines these ceramic bezels with microblasted white gold casebands and hand-polished pillars.
Assembly is ensured by grade 5 titanium spline screws, while water resistance is rated to 50 metres / 165 feet. Sapphire crystals with anti-reflective treatment protect both the dial and the caseback.
Powering the watches is the in-house CRMA2 automatic calibre, a skeletonised movement crafted from grade 5 titanium. Measuring 29.90 mm by 22.00 mm and 4.92 mm thick, it operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and delivers a power reserve of approximately 50 hours.
The architecture incorporates a free-sprung balance with variable inertia, designed to enhance stability when subjected to shocks and to maintain consistent chronometric performance over time.
The movement is equipped with a fast-rotating barrel, which improves the regularity of energy delivery, and a variable-geometry rotor in 5N red gold. This system allows the winding efficiency to be adjusted according to the wearer’s activity level.
The baseplate and bridges, both in grade 5 titanium, are microblasted and treated by electroplasma to ensure rigidity and precise alignment of the gear train.
The openworked construction reveals the movement’s structure as well as its finishing, which includes hand-polished anglage and carefully executed surface treatments.
Each version combines a specific palette of gemstones with its ceramic colour. The RM 07-01 TZP Blush Pink features diamonds set alongside yellow and blue sapphires, while the RM 07-01 TZP Powder Blue pairs diamonds with pink sapphires and tsavorites.
The RM 07-01 TZP Lavender Pink brings together diamonds, orange sapphires and rubies, extending this composition across both the bezel and the caseband.
With this final instalment, the RM 07-01 Coloured Ceramics collection concludes its development through a synthesis of materials, decorative techniques and mechanical construction. The introduction of gem-setting adds a further dimension to a series that has consistently explored the relationship between colour, texture and technical execution. richardmille.com
