Raúl Pagès - Soberly Onyx

Soberly Onyx is the name of the first watch designed and manufactured by the independent watchmaker Raúl Pagès based in Les Brenets, Switzerland.

The 40 mm x 9.30 mm case crafted from white gold houses a 2.5 Hz (18,000 vph) hand-wound movement based on a vintage Cyma 586K calibre from the 1950’s that is entirely reworked and decorated by hand.

The 13.30 mm balance wheel is inspired to the large balance wheels found in high end pocket watches from the 19th century. Its constructions follows George Daniels’ principles, including a handmade variable-inertia four arms balance with gold regulating masselottes, blued free sprung balance-spring, fine tuning of the whole regulating system with Philipps terminal curve.

The black frosted finish of the main plate beautifully contrasts with the hand polished angles created using traditional watchmaking methods and tools.

The black onyx dial, completed by handmade white gold indexes and hardened steel hands, gives the timepiece an elegant and somehow mysterious look evoking the style of the Art Deco era.

Produced in a limited edition of just 10 pieces, the Raúl Pagès Soberly Onyx has a price of Swiss Francs 48,000.
