Not the first Breitling model that comes to mind, the Transocean 38 offers an understated style with a twin-aperture calendar at 12 o'clock in an anti-shock, anti-magnetic, 100 metres (330 feet) water-resistant watch.
The stainless steel case fitted with a slim beveled bezel and slender lugs features a 38 mm diameter that fits nicely on any wrist.
Above the Breitling logo, a gold B initial is used in place of the 12 o'clock hour marker. while the small seconds sub-dial at 6 o'clock creates a visual counter-balance to the date twin aperture.
The dial is available in black or silver. And for women that like larger watches, Breitling also offers a mother-of-pearl dial (with or without diamond hour-markers) as well as an optional gemset bezel.
The Transocean 38 houses an automatic movement, certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC), which beats at 2!,800 vibrations per hour and offers 42 hours of power reserve. The solid caseback bears the historical Breitling symbol with its stylized embossed planes.
The Breitling Transocean 38 is fitted with a steel mesh bracelet in tribute to the original models but it is possible to opt for a perforated bracelet or a leather strap.
