SuisseMecanica - SM8 and SM8 Chrono

Founded in 2010, SuisseMecanica is an independent manufacture based in Chaux-La-Founds which presented one of the most interesting diving watches collection at BaselWorld 2013. The collection was originally introduced at Belles Montres in November 2012 in Paris but BaselWorld reached a definitely larger audience.

The collection is comprised of two models: the SM8, a 200 mt diving watch with dual time and the SM8 Chrono, a 200 mt monopusher chronograph, also with dual time. The satin-brushed stainless steel case is built in three parts and has a diameter of 43 mm and it is also available by order in gold and titanium.
The SM8 design is strongly characterised by the patented sliding crown protector which gives access to the conical crowns at two and four o'clock to control the two inner rotating bezels, the first for the immersion times and the second for the dual time. In case of the SM8 Chrono, the chronograph pusher is co-axial with the crown at 2 o'clock. The date aperture is positioned at 6 o'clock.

The 100% swiss made automatic movements - Calibre SM1-2222 for the SM8 and Calibre SM1-2022 for the SM8 Chrono - were developed, exclusively for SuisseMecanica, by Manufacture Concepto. They offer a power reserve of 50 hours and meticulous "haut de gamme" finishing that can be admired through the sapphire crystal case back.
The Luminova-treated hands and hours markers offer excellent legibility in ant light condition.
Both the SM8 and the SM8 Chrono are available in limited editions of 50 pieces each - all individually numbered - with the possibility to choose different combinations of black or steel rotating bezels and black or steel dual time rotating rings as detailed in the pictures below.
