Audemars Piguet - Royal Oak Selfwinding Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin Ref. 26586IP

Audemars Piguet is finally launching the final version of the Royal Oak Selfwinding Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin ref. 26586IP.OO.1240IP.01 so establishing a record as the world’s thinnest automatic perpetual calendar wristwatch. The price of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin is communicated on request.
Following the presentation of the initial 950 platinum RD#2 prototype at SIHH 2018, Audemars Piguet is finally launching the final version of the Royal Oak Selfwinding Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin ref. 26586IP.OO.1240IP.01 so establishing a record as the world’s thinnest automatic perpetual calendar wristwatch.

To achieve a case total thickness of just 6.3 mm and the height of 2.9 mm for the movement, the perpetual calendar functions, normally arranged on three levels have been merged into one single layer. This led to the development of two patented innovations: the end-of-the-month cam has been integrated to the date wheel, while the month cam has been combined to the month wheel. The geometry of each component has also been optimized in order to reduce adjustment and assembly time.

Comprising 256 parts, the automatic Calibre 5133 beats at a frequency of 2.75 Hz (19,800 vibrations per hour) with an autonomy of 40 hours.

Compared to previous Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar models the dial has been redesigned to feature larger day, date and month subdials. The night and day indication at 8 o’clock visually balance the leap year indication positioned at 4 o’clock.

The traditional “Grande Tapisserie” pattern is replaced by a blue satin finishing in order to enhance the legibility. White gold applied hour-markers and Royal Oak hands with luminescent coating completes the overall look.

The  41 mm case is crafted from satin-brushed titanium with a polished 950 platinum bezel and links to combine elegance and lightness. Thanks to a titanium screw-locked crown, the watch is water-resistant to a pressure o 2 bar (around 20 metres / 66 feet)

  1. Sorry but the prototype is way better!

  2. Agree. The dial of the new is not refined enough IMHO

  3. I don't mind the dial. Instead it's the polished bezel that I cannot like

  4. 6.3mm, amazing record, though it looks so generic Audemars as to be boring imho. Now those ultra thin watches by Piaget (@ 3.65mm) & Jaeger-LeCoultre (record standing @ 3.60mm) are beautiful as well as being record breaking. They are all fantastic offerings.
