Corum has launched a new collection, called Lab, that will include exclusive models available only as limited editions.
The first ones are two variations of the same model, the Heritage Corum Lab 01, featuring a 40 mm x 55.00 mm barrel-shaped case made of titanium grade 5 with black DLC treatment and rubber sides. The disruptive approach to watchmaking is intentionally remarked by the juxtaposition of ‘Heritage’ and ‘Lab’, two concepts that are not often associated with one another.
The calibre that drives these two Heritage Corum Lab 01 watches is a “shape movement”, that is to say a movement that has been made to measure for the case, in contrast to a round movement that is often placed in a differently-shaped case for technical ease.
In this case, calibre and the case are closely intertwined, one moulding to the contours of the other.
The openworked dial allows for the CO 410 skeleton calibre to be admired. The dial, reduced to its simplest expression, comes in grey anthracite enhanced with either red (ref. Z410/03860) or white (ref. Z410/03861), depending on the version.
Visible from the dial side, the micro-rotor features a contemporary spiral finish to accentuate the “speed” effect when it begins to rotate. The power reserve of this 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) movement is 50 hours.
Completed by black rubber straps with triple folding clasps and water resistant to 50 metres / 165 feet, the two editions of the Heritage Corum Lab 01 are limited to 99 pieces each with a price of Euro 15,000. corum.ch
