Crafted from stainless steel and measuring 40 mm x 14.4 mm, the case is a contemporary reinterpretation of acclaimed 44GS design from 1967 that set the Grand Seiko style. It offers water resistance to 100 metres / 330 feet.
Like every Grand Seiko watch, it offers highly polished, distortion-free surfaces, razor edged hands for high legibility and perfect comfort on the wrist.
Multi-faceted rectangular markers and hands, one of the iconic characteristics of Grand Seiko, make legibility easy, even in low light conditions. The GMT hand can be used as a dual time indicator with the hour hand being adjustable independently as the time of day hands continue to mark time.
The hi-beat GMT movement 9S86 is designed, made, assembled, adjusted and tested at the Shizuku-Ishi Watch Studio in where all Grand Seiko mechanical watches are manufactured and assembled, by hand, by the studio’s craftsmen and women.
Beating at 36,000 vibrations per hour (8 beats per second), this automatic calibre has a high accuracy of +5 to -3 seconds a day and a power reserve of 55 hours. It is visible through the screwed see-through case back.
