Longines keeps enriching its Heritage collection with the new Avigation Watch Type A-7 1935, a timepiece which illustrates the brand’s historic ties with the world of aviation. The original "Type A-7" chronographs were ordered by the American army in 1935.

This vintage-styled chronograph, with its dial angled at 40° to the right and honey-coloured accents, allow pilots to read the indices without having to release the plane’s control yoke.
For enhanced legibility, the polished white lacquer dial offers the ideal contrast to the 12 large honey-coloured Arabic numerals and the large "pear skeleton" hands in blued steel and honeyed varnish.
Even minutes can be precisely read thanks to the detailed "train track" chapter ring. The 30-minute chronograph counter at 12 o'clock is visually balanced by the running seconds subdial at 6 o’clock where the date is also displayed.
The 41 mm stainless steel case is equipped with a fluted crown that was designed to be easily manipulated, even while wearing gloves. Water resistance is guaranteed to 30 metres / 100 feet.
The new model is powered by the self-winding L788.2 calibre (base ETA A08.L11), a column wheel movement exclusively developed for Longines which enables control of the different chronograph functions (power, stop, and reset) by simply pressing the single push-piece inserted into the crown. Beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, it features a 54-hour power reserve.
