Piaget Polo S and Polo S Chronograph. Taking its name from the elegant sport played on horseback, the Polo collection launched by Piaget in 1979 is now enriched by the Polo S, a new watch in stainless steel which displays a cushion-shaped dial within a round 42 mm case. The positioning of the new timepiece is clearly the same of successful models like the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak or the Patek Philippe Nautilus, i.e. a luxury and versatile watch in a sporty steel case. The Polo S and Polo S Chronograph are competitively priced at US$ 9,350 and US$ 12,400 respectively.

The dial, enhanced by silvered appliques with Superluminova, includes a date display and it is available in three colours: silver, blue, or slate grey.
Together with the three-hand model, Piaget presented also the Polo S Chronograph with two dial variations, silver or blue.
The 12-hour and 30-minute counters are symmetrically positioned at 9 and 3 o’clock with central chronograph seconds and no running seconds.
Compared to the three-hand model, the thickness of the chronograph case increases from 9.4 mm to 11.2 mm.
Water resistance is 100 metres / 330 feet for all models.
Both models house manufacture automatic movements - calibre 1110P for the three-hand and calibre 1160P for the chronograph - which are visible through a sapphire case-back. Beating at 4 Hz (28,800 vph), they guarantee 50 hours of autonomy.
The Polo S is completed by a steel bracelet composed of hand-assembled links alternating polish and satin finish.
Considering the prestige of the brand, the finishing level and the quality of the in-house manufactured movements, the Polo S and Polo S Chronograph are competitively priced at US$ 9,350 and US$ 12,400 respectively. piaget.com

A good move from Piaget. An alternative to the expensively priced Royal Oak and Nautilus.
ReplyDeletePretty nice but not a game changer as Piaget announced.
