As a preview of Baselworld 2016 novelties, Omega just announced the Planet Ocean 600M Master Chronometer for Ladies, a charming 39.5 mm model crafted from 18K Sedna Gold in combination with chocolate-toned ceramic used for both the bezel and the dial.

This is the first time that Sedna Gold has been used for the Planet Ocean collection. The material has also been used for hands and indexes, as well as the foldover clasp.

The warm tone of the red gold is beautifully complemented by the fascinating brown colour - evocative of chocolate - used for the ceramic bezel and dial.

The numbers and new minute markers of the diving scale on the bezel has been obtained using the Ceragold technology, process that enables the incrustation of 18K gold into zirconium-based ceramic bezels, resulting in a blended material that is absolutely smooth to the touch.

As the name of the new model suggests, the model has been updated as a Master Chronometer, the new standard of certification adopted by Omega. For women, this is among the first ladies’ timepieces to attain the METAS-approved rating.

Lucky wearers can admire the new calibre 8801 through the sapphire crystal caseback, complete with an oscillating weight also crafted from 18K Sedna Gold.
