The new F.P. Journe élégante introduces a revolutionary horological concept with a truly innovative electromechanical movement. The flat Tortue case (34 mm x 36 mm) is available in three different metals: titanium, red gold and titanium. The titanium version has rubber inserts and a matching rubber strap offered in seven colours: white, rose, light blue, mid- night blue, chocolate, burgundy red, and khaki green. FPJourne
Francois-Paul Journe is worldwide renowned for his exceptional classic mechanical movements. It might, therefore, sound strange at first to hear about an electromechanical watch from him.
The fact is that the new élégante, a watch that F.P. Journe has designed and conceived listening to women's needs and desires for years, introduces a revolutionary horological concept with a truly innovative electromechanical movement.

It took 8 years of research for F.P. Journe to create a movement that could offer the comfort of use of an electromechanical watch with femininity and elegance. The electronic components were developed by a Swiss engineer, including the microprocessor specifically created for the watch.
A mechanical motion detector, visible on the dial at 5 o’clock, detects when the watch is not worn putting it in stand by mode after 30 minutes.
While the microprocessor continues to keep time, the mechanical parts - gears, rotors and hands - stop moving in order to save energy. When the élégante is worn again, it automatically sets itself to the correct time, taking the shortest path - either clockwise or counter clockwise - so saving energy also in this phase. Thanks to this solution, the élégante guarantees 10 years of use if worn and up to 18 years in standby mode.

Faithful to a tradition of perfectly finished movements, F.P. Journe does not renounce to display the nicely decorated electromechanical movement through the sapphire case back. A heart adorns the back of the movement, showing the location of the microprocessor. All the mechanical elements of the élégante movement are manufactured by F.P. Journe.
