Jaquet Droz - Grande Seconde Dual Time

With the new Grande Seconde Dual Time, Jaquet Droz endows one of its most recognisable models with a dual time complication.

The dial features two off-centre dials - one with Roman numerals and the other with Arabic ones - which slightly overlap to delineate a figure eight, or the symbol of infinity.

The upper dial displays the local time while the lower seconds dial, off-centred at six o’clock, doubles up with a 24-hour second time zone giving the reference time. A further complication - the date - is indicated by the red-tipped hand.

Visible through the transparent case back, the Jaquet Droz 2663H24 self-winding mechanical movement is equipped with a silicon escapement unaffected by magnetic fields. Beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, it features a double barrel delivering 65 hours of power reserve.

The Grande Seconde Dual Time is presented in three 43 mm-diameter versions: an ivory Grand Feu enamelled dial with a red gold case, and a silvery opaline or onyx dial with a stainless steel case.

Retail prices start from Euro 16,600 / US$ 16,000 for the stainless steel version with silver dial.
