Raymond Weil - Freelancer Automatic Chronograph

Based in Geneva, Raymond Weil belongs to the limited circle of Swiss watchmakers still in family hands. Founded in 1976, the company is now lead by the grandson of the eponymous founder of the brand.

The latest Raymond Weil novelty is a sport chronograph housed in a 43.5 mm stainless steel case sporting a blue PVD-coated tachometer bezel matched to a silver dial with blue sub-dials and a date window between 4 and 5 o'clock. The pusher at 10 o'clock can be used to quickly set the date.

The automatic RW 5010 movement (ETA 7753 based) beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour with 46 hours of autonomy and it is visible through the screwed-down case back equipped with a sapphire crystal.

The Raymond Weil Freelancer Automatic Chronograph (ref. 7740-SC3-65521) is matched to a perforated calfskin leather strap and is water resistant to 100 metres / 330 feet. Retail price is around Euro 3,250 / US$ 2,995.

The Freelancer Automatic Chronograph is also available in two even sportier variations: reference 7740-SC1-65221 with silver dial and red accents, and reference 7740-SC1-20021 with black dial and yellow accents.
