In 2014 Parmigiani Fleurier celebrates 10 years of partnership with Bugatti - the famous car manufacturer of high-performance automobiles founded in 1909 by Italian-born Ettore Bugatti - with three exclusive limited editions based on the famous Bugatti 370 timepiece created in 2004 to mark the start of the collaboration between the two brands.
The first of the three new model is the Bugatti Mythe Limited Edition, a unique piece characterised by the transverse tubular movement, reminding a motor bloc, first introduced ten years ago.
This movement, the calibre 370, can be hand wound using a dynamometric starter. It beats at 3Hz and offers a 10-day power reserve, thanks to 2 series-coupled barrels.
Functions include hours and minutes and a power reserve indication positioned on the side of a rotating drum.
The aesthetic of the watch is inspired to the Bugatti Type 57 grille with a structure formed of lines rather than mesh. These lines are echoed in the watch dial and they extend downward beyond its perimeter in perfect Art Deco style.
The case has a dual colour effect with the anthracite grey and the burnished gold surfaces to reflect the industrial and the artisan sides of both the automotive and watchmaking worlds.
The Bugatti Mythe is presented on a black Hermes calf skin strap with rose gold folding buckle. Its price: US$ 430,000.
