Tag Heuer - Carrera Calibre 17 Jack Heuer Edition (ref. CV5110 and 5111)

Last year we wrote about the Tag Heuer Carrera Jack Heuer 80th Birthday Edition (ref. CV2119), one of our favourite Carrera models, featuring a sunray grey dial with dark grey chronograph counters and red details.

This year, Tag Heuer presented two new models of the Carrera Calibre 17 Jack Heuer Edition
Reference CV5110 features an anthracite dial with silver chronograph counters (basically inverting colours compared to the model presented last year) while reference CV5111 has blue chronograph counters and tachymetre flange.
All these models have the same 41 mm stainless steel case and house the reliable automatic Calibre 17 movement beating at 28,800 vph and offering 42 hours of power reserve. The usual Tag Heuer logo is replaced by the vintage Red Heuer logo.

Colours apart, there are three key differences between the two new Carrera Calibre 17 Jack Heuer Edition and last year's Carrera Jack Heuer 80th Birthday Edition (often referred to as the Carrera 80): 1) the Calibre 17 movement used for the two new models is COSC-certified as confirmed by the Chronometer text on the dial, 2) the caseback is engraved with the Red Heuer logo but there are no Heuer family crest and Jack Heuer’s signature, and 3) the "80" on the tachymetre flange, which in the Carrera 80 was highlighted to celebrate the 80th birthday of the designer of the iconic Carrera, is not red.
The 2013 Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre 17 Jack Heuer Edition are  only available from Tag Heuer boutiques.
