A new model enriches the range of Vacheron Constantin's automatic chronographs with the just introduced Overseas Chronograph with blue dial (ref. 49150/000A-9745).
The deep shiny blue of the lacquered dial is emphasised by the luminescent hands and hour-markers which guarantee perfect legibility.
The Overseas distinctive bezel is polished so creating a nice contrast with the rest of the 42 mm satin-brushed case.
Water resistant to 150 metres, the new Overseas Chronograph offers anti-magnetic protection certified to 25,000 A/m (compared with the standard 4,000 A/m) thanks to a soft iron cage shielding the self-winding Calibre 1137 from the effects of magnetic fields. The column-wheel chronograph movement features a 40-hour power reserve and beats at 21,600 vph.
In addition to showing the hours, minutes, small seconds at 6 o’clock and the chronograph functions – with a larger 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock and 12-hour counter at 9 o’clock – this model provides a large date display at 12 o’clock.
The solid case-back is adorned with the three-masted Amerigo Vespucci ship, a symbol of the world’s greatest sailors travels.
The new Overseas Chronograph will be available exclusively in the United States and in Vacheron Constantin boutiques as of late 2013, before becoming worldwide available from summer 2014 onwards.
