In pictures: Blancpain Villeret Quantième Perpétuel with Green Dial

The Villeret Quantième Perpétuel is Blancpain's interpretation of one of the most sought-after complications by watch collectors and enthusiasts, the perpetual calendar.

For this model, Blancpain pairs the classic Villeret round case with a well-balanced dial, enhanced by the recently introduced green sunray finish. The colour is inspired by the forests surrounding Le Brassus, where the manufacture is based.

We recently had the opportunity to photograph the Blancpain Villeret Quantième Perpétuel with Green Dial (ref. 6656-3653-55B) at the Pisa 1940 flagship store in Milan, and we are pleased to share the images here. 

Pisa 1940, Italy’s largest watch retailer, is well known among international collectors, particularly in the auction world. Over the years, several prestigious watchmakers, including Patek Philippe, F.P. Journe and IWC, have created exclusive editions for the historic location. 

Like other Blancpain models, the Villeret Quantième Perpétuel with Green Dial can be ordered through Pisa 1940’s online platform or at its Milan store.

Crafted from red gold, the 40.30 mm case measures just 10.70 mm in height and is defined by a stepped bezel and polished surfaces. Water resistance is rated at 30 metres / 100 feet

The green dial offers an elegant backdrop for the applied Roman numeral hour markers and the seven hands, ensuring excellent legibility. 

Calendar indications are arranged with date at 3 o’clock, day at 9, and month at 12, alongside the moon-phase display at 6 o’clock. 

The sub-dial at 12 o’clock also incorporates the leap-year indicator.

The large central seconds hand, together with the hour and minute hands shaped like cut-out sage leaves, features a counterbalance signed with Blancpain’s “B” logo. 

The moon-phase display sits within a wide aperture and features a satin-finished 18-carat gold moon with a distinctive face, a detail rooted in Blancpain’s long tradition.

The perpetual calendar mechanism automatically accounts for varying month lengths and leap years, requiring no correction until February 2100, when an exception in the Gregorian calendar comes into effect.

Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, the self-winding Calibre 5954 reveals refined finishing, a red-gold honeycomb oscillating weight and a silicon balance spring. 

Operating at 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), the movement delivers a power reserve of 72 hours and incorporates a safety system that protects the calendar mechanism if adjustments are made during indication changes.

The case remains free of visible correctors, preserving its clean lines.

All calendar and moon-phase settings are made using four discreet pushers integrated beneath the lugs, which can be operated simply with a fingertip, without additional tools.
