Armin Strom - Edge Double Barrel

With their bold style, openworked dials and exceptional level of finishing, Armin Strom timepieces are immediately recognisable.

Now with the new Edge Double Barrel, introduced at Baselworld 2016, Armin Strom creates a brand new model with an even bolder look.

With its larger diameter (46.80 mm), black PVD coating and cutouts on the bezel, the stainless steel case is very masculine. Despite its large diameter, the Edge Double Barrel wears comfortably on the wrist. Height is 13.20 mm.

Claude Greisler, Armin Strom's director and chief horologist, explains: ""The time is right for Armin Strom to step out with a stronger aesthetic. Our goal is to create models with real staying power that will become iconic for the brand."

The open-worked dial displays some components of the in-house developed and manufactured ARM16 hand-wound calibre creating a three-dimensional effect which is very pleasing to the eyes.

The large Arabic numerals and the 60-second register with power reserve indicator dominate the dial together with the spider-shaped crown wheels.

Unconventional cross-grinding decoration of the hand-beveled bridges significantly enhances the intentional watch's industrial feel.

Comprising 194 components and slow beating at 18,000 vibrations per hour, the ARM16 calibre features a double going barrel which guarantees a remarkable 8-day power reserve. The escape wheel and pallets are made of massive gold with hardened functional areas.

Water resistant to 50 metres / 165 feet, the Armin Strom Edge Double Barrel is delivered with a black alligator strap and double-fold clasp in stainless steel PVD black as well as an additional black rubber strap.

Produced in just 100 pieces, all individually numbered, the price of the new Armin Strom timepiece is Swiss Francs 26,900. arminstrom.com
