Alpina - Alpiner 4 Chronograph "Race for Water"

An official supporter of the Race for Water Foundation which fights for the preservation of freshwater and oceans, Alpina has created a special, limited edition watch: the Alpiner 4 Chronograph "Race for Water".

The new watch adopts the foundation colours with a silver and blue sunray dial with applied luminous indexes. The nickel hands are also treated with white luminous coating. The two counters are positioned at 3 o'clock (chronograph 30-minute counter) and 9 o'clock (continuous seconds).

The Stainless steel 44 mm case diameter is featured with a bi-directional compass bezel and houses the AL-860 automatic movement beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour with a power reserve of 38 hours. Based on the Sellita SW500 chronograph movement, the AL-860 chronograph calibre has been modified by Alpina to feature a "Bi-Compax" counter configuration for maximum readability.

The watch is anti magnetic with an ISO764 certification up to 4800 A/m (Ampere per metre) and offers water resistance to 100 metres / 330 feet.

Delivered in a special wooden gift box and fitted with a black alligator strap , the Alpina Alpiner 4 Chronograph "Race for Water" (ref. AL-860AD5AQ6) has a retail price of Euro 2,750 / US$ 3,495.00.

Alpina will donate 50 Swiss Francs for every Alpiner 4 "Race for Water" Chronograph sold anywhere in the world to the foundation.
