A. Lange & Söhne presented the new Saxonia Automatic Outsize Date, a 25 pieces limited edition available only at the A. Lange & Söhne boutiques.
The double aperture large date, smoothly integrated in the elegant solid silver dial, gives the name to the model. First introduced in the Lange 1 model, the outsize date has become a signature characteristic of A. Lange & Söhne. The push piece at 10 o'clock advances the date.
The 37 mm pink gold case houses Lange’s famous Sax-0-Mat manufacture calibre. The name is composed of “Saxonia” (the Latin word for Saxony), “zero”, and “automatic”. The zero stands for the ingenious Zero-Reset mechanism which causes the seconds hand to instantaneously jump to the 12 o’clock position when the crown is pulled, a function that makes synchronising the watch very easy.
The embossed rotor in 21-carat gold winds the watch in both directions thanks to a reduction gear. For a better efficiency the rotor features a platinum centrifugal mass.
The sapphire-crystal caseback is a must in a watch like this so that the owner can admire the meticulously finished movement. The three-quarter rotor reveals the escapement with the classic screw balance, the hand-engraved balance cock, and the whiplash precision index adjuster.
