The new IWC Portuguese Chronograph Classic ref. 3940 is slightly larger in diameter and 2 millimetres higher than the iconic Portuguese Chronograph ref. 3714.
The new Portuguese Chronograph Classic is equipped with the IWC-manufactured 89361 calibre. The movement - already seen on the Portuguese Yatch Club Chronograph - was developed specially to show stopped times up to 12 hours on a separate subdial at 12 o'clock, which can be read off like the time of day. The rotor, decorated with Geneva stripes, can be seen through the transparent sapphire-glass back. When fully wound, the movement has a power reserve of 68 hours.
All models are supplied with a Santoni strap made of alligator leather.
