Tudor is expanding its Ranger lineup with a new 36 mm case size, complementing the existing 39 mm version. A brand-new “Dune white” dial also joins the matte black introduced in 2022.

Inspired by the colours one can experience at the Dakar Rally with its rocks and towering sand dunes, the new matte “Dune white” dial features the typical Arabic numerals at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock, baton markers for the other hours, and the arrow-shaped hands. The tip of the seconds hand stands out in burgundy.

Markers and hands are painted with Grade A Swiss Super-LumiNova luminescent material, black for the new “Dune white” dial and beige for the black.

Both dials are slightly domed, as are the sapphire crystals that protect them.

The Ranger case, available in 36 mm x 11 mm or 39 mm x 12 mm, is crafted from 316L stainless steel and is water-resistant to 100 metres / 330 feet. The large screw-down crown is embellished with the Tudor rose in relief.

The case and the bracelet of the Ranger are satin brushed, creating an overall matte finish as you would expect in an expedition watch.

Only some elements are polished to strengthen the lines of the case, including the edge of the bezel.

The bracelet is secured by Tudor's “T-fit” clasp, equipped with a system for rapid length adjustment. Easy to use and requiring no tools, it offers five positions that allow wearers of the Ranger to carry out fine, instant adjustments along an 8 mm window.

Alternatively, the Ranger can be paired with a single-piece earth-tone tri-colour fabric strap. Woven in France on 19th century Jacquard looms by the Julien Faure company in the Saint Étienne region, it is particularly robust and comfortable.

The lug width is 19 mm for the 36 mm case and 20 mm for the 39 mm.

Both models are equipped with Manufacture Calibres MT5400 for the 36 mm case and MT5402 for the 39 mm case. These movements feature a variable inertia balance, held in place by a sturdy traversing bridge with two points of fixation.

Operating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), the balance wheel is equipped with a non-magnetic silicon spring.

Certified as chronometers by COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute), both movements feature a bidirectional rotor system ensuring a power reserve of approximately 70 hours.
