Piaget x Wristcheck Altiplano Ultimate Automatic: a blue reinterpretation

Piaget continues its exploration of ultra-thin watchmaking with the new Piaget x Wristcheck Altiplano Ultimate Automatic, a limited edition of 30 pieces based on the Altiplano Ultimate Automatic 910P and distinguished by a series of blue accents developed in collaboration with Wristcheck, the Hong Kong-based watch retailer and media platform founded in 2020, also active in Macau and New York.

Originally introduced in 2017, the Altiplano Ultimate Automatic 910P marked a key milestone in Piaget’s long-standing pursuit of extreme thinness, merging movement and case into a single structural entity and achieving a total thickness of just 4.3 mm. Crafted in white gold, the 41 mm case of this limited edition retains the distinctive architecture of the 910P, where the caseback also functions as the movement mainplate. 

This integrated construction allows the 219 components of the calibre to be distributed directly within the case structure, while the reversed layout places the gear train and bridges on the dial side, making the mechanical architecture fully visible from the front.

The peripheral rotor, executed in 22-carat gold and integrated into the outer edge of the movement, contributes to maintaining the ultra-thin profile while ensuring efficient winding performance.

Operating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), the self-winding calibre delivers a power reserve of approximately 50 hours.

As in the standard configuration, the hours and minutes are displayed on an off-centred dial positioned at 2 o’clock, leaving the remaining surface open to the exposed mechanics. 

For this edition, Wristcheck introduces its signature blue across selected elements of the watch, including the hour counter, hands, screws and peripheral rotor.

The colour accents highlight the underlying structure without altering the technical identity of the movement. 

The contrast between the blue elements, the white gold case and the grey-toned mechanical surfaces reinforces the layered construction of the design.

The ultra-thin architecture of the 910P also required specific technical solutions. 

Certain wheels measure just 0.12 mm in thickness, while the hands are positioned beneath the bridges to protect the movement from external pressure. 

The suspended barrel, fixed by a single bridge on the dial side, remains one of the defining visual and technical features of the calibre, contributing to both efficiency and spatial clarity.

Finishing throughout reflects Piaget’s established approach to ultra-thin haute horlogerie, with satin-brushed and sandblasted surfaces, sunburst-finished wheels and bevelled bridges visible across the dial-side architecture.

The watch is paired with a deep blue calfskin strap with matching stitching, reinforcing the monochromatic interpretation of the collaboration. 

The solid caseback is engraved with both the Piaget crest and the Wristcheck signature.
