Panerai presented the new Luminor Marina Carbotech PAM01661, a preview of the upcoming Watches & Wonders 2020 novelties. The Panerai Luminor Marina Carbotech PAM01661 will have an indicative price of Euro 12,500 / US$ 12,800.
First introduced by Panerai in 2015 with the Luminor Submersible 1950 PAM00616, Carbotech is a composite material based on carbon that provides exceptional technical performance while offering an uneven, matt black appearance which varies according the cutting of the material, making each example of this watch a unique piece.
Carbotech was then used for the sensational LAB-ID Luminor 1950 PAM700 in 2017.
Panerai is now expanding the use of this material to the new Luminor Marina Carbotech PAM01661, a preview of the novelties that the brand will be presenting at the upcoming Watches & Wonders 2020.
Light-weight and extremely resistant to external shocks and corrosion, the 44 mm Carbotech case is here combined to a black Sandwich dial with blue Super-LumiNova markings. The date at 3 o'clock is visually balanced by the small seconds sub-dial at 9 o'clock
The automatic P.9010 calibre beats at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) with an autonomy of three days. The energy necessary to accumulate such a power reserve is stored in two spring barrels whose springs are wound by an oscillating weight operating in both directions. The hours can be conveniently adjusted without interfering with the movement of the minute hand, thanks to the device which directly moves only the relative hand in jumps of one hour forward or backwards. This function is very useful when changing time zones or moving between summer time and winter time, and conveniently the adjustment of the hour hand is automatically connected to the date indicator.
Weighing just 96 grams and water resistant to 300 metres / 990 feet, the Panerai Luminor Marina Carbotech PAM01661 will have an indicative price of Euro 12,500 / US$ 12,800. A black Sportech fabric strap with blue stitching completes the bold look of the watch. panerai.com

Very good-looking watch but I would love to have a display back!
ReplyDeleteNice but I still prefer a steel Luminor. I do not see this model to become classic.
