Omega begins the new year with the release of a new Speedmaster model featuring the exclusive Calibre 321 that was brought back in production in 2019.

The new Speedmaster 321 Canopus Gold takes inspiration from the very first Speedmaster, known as the CK2915-1 and launched in 1957, thus marking the 65th anniversary of the collection.

Faithful to the original, the 38.6 mm case has been crafted in 18K Canopus Gold, a white gold alloy that offers enhanced brilliance, whiteness and longevity.

Framed by the typical bezel with a tachymeter scale, the deep black onyx dial features an applied vintage Omega logo and typography featuring an oval “O" - a detail that could be seen on the first CK2915 models.

The 18K white gold hands and indexes received a Canopus Gold PVD treatment to perfectly harmonise with the hue of the case.

The tachymeter scale of the bezel has been filled with black “Grand Feu” enamel and reproduce two of the original Speedmaster’s most collector-worthy details: the famous dot over ninety (DON) and a dot diagonal to seventy.

The NAIAD symbol on the watch’s crown was used to reference water-resistance in some of the first CK2915 models.

The hand-wound Calibre 321 can be appreciated through a transparent sapphire crystal that is engraved with the Omega Seahorse on the inside. Its eye has been made from a sparkling blue sapphire, a precious jewel that traditionally marks a 65-year celebration.

Equipped with a Breguet balance-spring and finished with an 18K Sedna gold PVD coating, each Calibre 321 movement is assembled by the same watchmaker. Beating at a frequency of 2.5 Hz (18,000 vibrations per hour), it offers 55 hours of power reserve.

The Speedmaster Calibre 321 watch is set on an 18K Canopus Gold bracelet with a comfort release adjustment system and is presented in a special wooden box inspired by the original Speedmaster boxes that customers would have received in 1957.

Water resistant to 6 bar (60 metres / 200 feet), the new Omega Speedmaster 321 Canopus Gold ref. 311.50.39.30.01.001 has a retail price of Euro 81,300 (incl. VAT) / US$ 81,000 (excl. local sales taxes).
