Zenith - El Primero Tourbillon Skeleton and El Primero Skeleton Intense Black

Zenith unveiled two new interpretations of the El Primero automatic chronograph where an imposing 45 mm-diameter case crafted from black ceramic frames an openworked dial which showcases the complexities of the fast-paced 5 Hz (36,000 vph) movement.

The three-dimensional effect of the dial is reinforced by the ruthenium-blackened, faceted hands sweeping over matching hour-markers, all treated with Super-LumiNova. Red accents enhance the sporty traits of these timepieces.

The first model, the El Primero Skeleton, is equipped with the El Primero Calibre 400B powering central hours and minutes, small seconds, chronograph and date functions.

Housing the El Primero Calibre 403, the El Primero Skeleton Tourbillon has an even more avant-garde look thanks to the tourbillon carriage at 11 o’clock which performs one rotation per minute, the openworked chronograph counters forming a figure eight and the minute ring screw-secured to the movement.

Both movements offer more than 50 hours of power reserve.

The strong character of the two new models is enhanced by a black rubber strap – perforated for the tourbillon version and carbon fibre-coated for the chronograph – fitted with a titanium and black PVD-treated triple folding clasp.

Retail prices of the El Primero Skeleton Intense Black (ref. 49.2520.400/98.R578) and the El Primero Tourbillon Skeleton Intense Black (ref. 49.2520.4035/98.R576) are Euro 10.900,00 / US$ 10,600 and Euro 49,700 / US$ 47,600 respectively.
