Greubel Forsey, one of the most innovative manufacturer in the very high-end complicated timepieces market, unveiled a new interpretation of the Double Tourbillon 30° Technique model housed in an all-sapphire case.

Composed of three pieces - the middle case, the bezel, and the back - this exceptional and fully transparent case has an imposing diameter of 49.95 mm - 2.45 mm larger than the already available precious metal versions - and a total thickness of 17.15 mm.

Visible from any view angle, the manual winding movement of the Double Tourbillon 30° Technique Sapphire comprises nearly 400 components with four fast-rotating coaxial mainspring barrels positioned at 10 o’clock to provide 120 hours of power reserve.

The time is displayed with central hour and minute hands and sectorial indications for the small seconds and power reserve at 9 and 3 o’clock respectively. The Double Tourbillon 30° at 6 o’clock is an eye-catcher with one tourbillon cage rotating in 60-seconds at an angle of 30° which turns inside an outer cage with an orbit of four minutes.

The Greubel Forsey Double Tourbillon 30° Technique Sapphire will be produced in a limited edition of just 8 pieces with a mind-blowing price of around US$ 1,100,000. greubelforsey.com
