Junghans - Meister Pilot

Combining contemporary design elements typical of its Meister collection with other details directly inspired to the pilot watches of the 1950s and in particular to the Bundeswehr service watch, the new Meister Pilot from Junghans is strongly characterised by the bi-directional rotating bezel featuring 12 concave notches to ensure optimal grip.

The stainless steel case, whose diameter is 43.3 mm with a height of 14.4 mm, frames a matt black dial which offers excellent legibility, even in poor lighting conditions and at night, thanks to large hands and hour markers treated with Super-LumiNova and the domed sapphire crystal with double-sided anti-reflection coating. The 30-minute chronograph counter and the small seconds sub-dial are laid out at 9 and 3 o’clock respectively.

The seven-times screwed back is decorated with a specially-designed compass rose, which incorporates the symbolism of classic aviation in the form of an artificial horizon.

The J880.4 self-winding movement features a Dubois Depraz 2030 module built on a 4 Hz (28,800 vph) ETA 2824 or Sellita SW200 basic calibre.

Completed by a riveted leather strap, the Junghans Meister Pilot is water resistant to 10 bar (100 metres / 330 feet) is available in two colour variations (ref. 027/3590.00 and the warm-toned ref. 027/3591.00). The retail price is around Euro 2,250 / US$ 2,450.
