A. Lange & Sohne - 1815 “200th Anniversary F. A. Lange” in Honey Gold

A. Lange & Söhne keeps celebrating Ferdinand Adolph Lange, who was born 200 years ago,
with a second 1815 anniversary edition.

The first, presented last February, was characterised by a platinum case and a black solid-silver dial. We wrote about it here.

The new 1815 "200th Anniversary F. A. Lange" features a case crafted from an innovative gold alloy, called "honey gold", which consists of gold, manganese, zinc and silicone. The new alloy has a unique honey tone and it offers increased corrosion resistance and durability. It is also more resistant to scratches compared to yellow or rose gold.

The 40 mm case frames a solid-silver dial with a finely textured argenté-grainé surface, a finishing technique reminiscent of the silvery dials of historic observation watches and marine chronometers.

Composed of 188 parts and beating at 21,600 vph, the hand wound calibre L051.1 has a power reserve of 55 hours and includes all the distinctive traits of Saxon movements: the three-quarter plate made of untreated German silver, the hand-engraved balance cock, the classic screw balance, the precision beat-adjustment system with lateral set screw and whiplash spring, and five gold chatons that are secured with thermally blued steel screws.

The back case case is engraved with a serial number between 001/200 and 200/200, which identifies each timepiece as part of a limited edition. The 1815 "200th Anniversary F. A. Lange" Honey Gold (ref. 236.050) has a retail price is Euro 31,900 / US$ 33,900.
