Manufacture Royale - 1770 Voltige

With the new 1770 Voltige, Manufacture Royale takes the escapement (the beating heart of the watch) out of the movement and places it above the dial.

This way, Manufacture Royale highlights the vital importance of the regulating organ that, like a voltigeur, takes the spotlight at centre-stage.

The balance is secured by a semi-circular bridge which gradually rises to its high point above the dial. Beneath it, the pallet and the escape wheel meet at a rate of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz).

The manufacture MR05 calibre equipping the Voltige 1770 displays hours, minutes and small seconds. Its automatic winding provides 40 hours of power reserve. Its components, and those of the dial, are finished and decorated in the tradition of Swiss watchmaking.

The anthracite grey dial with satin sunray finish features a cartouche at 3 o'clock bearing the Manufacture Royale inscription and a small seconds subdial at 6 o'clock with a sieve-like structure.

The 45 mm steel case, designed by Eric Giroud, is held by two brancards which hug the sides and extend beyond its middle to form the lugs. The total thickness is 13.8 mm.

With a retail price of US$ 33,000, the 1770 Voltige is the entry-level timepiece produced by Manufacture Royale.
