Officine Panerai - Radiomir 1940 3 Days Ceramica PAM00577

Combining elements taken from historic watches of the brand with a modern and high-performance black ceramic case, the new Radiomir 1940 3 Days Ceramica from Officine Panerai has a strong visual impact.

The Radiomir 1940 case has a diameter of 48 mm with a matte finishing which nicely harmonises with the black dial. Dot and bar hour markers contribute to the minimalist design of the timepiece. The typical sandwich structure of the dial is created by superimposing two plates with ecru-toned Super-LumiNova for excellent legibility.

Above the 6 o'clock marker, the image in relief of the Siluro a Lenta Corsa (a slow-running human torpedo which the Italian operators nicknamed "maiale", the Italian for "pig"), reminds the wearer that the design of the dial dates back to the end of the 1930s when Panerai supplied its watches to the commandos of the Italian Navy.

The case back is made of titanium for its non-allergenic properties and it has a DLC (diamond-like carbon) coating matching the colour of the ceramic case. The manufacture P.3000 hand-wound movement is displayed through a large sapphire crystal window.

With a construction similar to that of a three-quarter plate movement, the P.3000 is equipped with two spring barrels guaranteeing a power reserve of three days. The large balance wheel (13.2 mm) oscillates at a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour).

The P.3000 movement also features a device for rapidly adjusting the time, which enables the hour hand to move in jumps of one hour forward or backward, without interfering with the movement of the minute hand or the running of the watch.

The new Panerai Radiomir 1940 3 Days Ceramica (PAM00577) is water-resistant to 10 bar (a depth of about 100 metres) and it is supplied with a strap of brown untreated leather, with contrasting hand-sewing, and closed by a trapezoidal buckle made of black DLC-coated titanium. The price is Euro 10,300 / US$ 11,200.
