Nomos - Minimatik

Presented as a watch for Ladies, the new Nomos Minimatik can actually be considered a unisex timepiece. In fact, with its 35.5 mm diameter, the classic steel case can also fit to most men's wrists.

The white silver-plated dial has no frills or decorations. Nonetheless, thanks to the alternation of Bordeaux red and ink blue elements, it has a cheery and playful appearance while offering excellent legibility. The golden minute dots add a nice touch.

The small seconds counter is well proportioned and visually balance the brand logo positioned on the same vertical axis. The "automatik" inscription just below the logo reminds the wearer that, despite its slender profile, the watch is not powered by a hand wound movement.

Displayed through the sapphire crystal case back, the new automatic Nomos caliber DUW 3001 (where DUW stands for Deutsche UhrenWerke) is only 3.2 millimetres tall allowing the Minimatik model to maintain a height of just 8.4 mm.

Beating at 21,600 and offering a power reserve of 42 hours, the DUW 3001 calibre is characterised by the typical Glashütte three-quarter plate and nicely finished with tempered blue screws, rhodium-plated surfaces with Glashütte ribbing and Nomos perlage. It features the high precision escapement with tempered blue balance spring that was in-house designed by Nomos.

The Nomos Minimatik (ref. 1201) is completed by a Shell Cordovan leather strap and will be available this fall. Price: Euro 2,800.
