IWC - Ingenieur Automatic Edition AMG GT

IWC unveiled a new exclusive and innovative edition of its Ingenieur model. Limited to just 25 pieces and created to commemorate IWC’s ten-year partnership with Mercedes-AMG, the Ingenieur Automatic Edition AMG GT is the first watch worldwide to feature a case made of solid boron carbide.

Almost as hard as a diamond and as light as aluminium, boron carbide is an innovative material that unites contrasting qualities to deliver unique performance. This high-performance ceramic is one of the hardest and most scratch-resistant materials available, and it is produced in five time-consuming stages.

The black colour used for the 45 mm case and the dial is combined with stylish yellow elements that reference AMG’s exclusive colour, "solarbeam". The screws in the bezel and the crown are made of black zirconium oxide.

The see-through sapphire-glass back reveals the in-house 80110-calibre automatic movement with its blackened rotor. Thanks to the integrated shock-absorption system, this is one of the most robust movements made in Schaffhausen. It beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a power reserve of 44 hours.

A rubber strap with yellow quilted stitching completes the rugged look of the watch.

The Ingenieur Automatic Edition AMG GT has a price of around Euro 24,500 / US$ 26,400 and is available from selected IWC retailers. iwc.com
