F.P.Journe - Chronometre Souverain with Gold Dial

The movements of F.P.Journe timepieces are notoriously manufactured in 18K rose Gold, a feature which adds preciousness to their mechanical beauty.

F.P. Journe has now created a new dial in massive 18K gold with embossed mirror numbers for three of its most famous watches: the Chronomètre Souverain, the Octa Réserve and the Octa Lune, all of them available with a 38 mm or 40 mm case in red gold or in platinum.
These new dials require a special preparation, including a refined sanding for the base, the applying of a silver layer, the surfacing of the numbers using a diamond tool for a perfect mirror aspect and, finally, the printing of the railway minute circle, the time indications and the F.P.Journe logo. This last operation requires up to 5 successive layers for a perfect bombé shape.
The Chronomètre Souverain with the new solid gold dial (red gold for the red gold case and white gold for the platinum case) has central hours and minutes with a small seconds sub-dial at 7:30 and the power reserve indicator unusually positioned at 3 o'clock.
The elegant case houses the F. P. Journe hand-wound Calibre 1304 beating at 21,600 vibrations per hour and featuring two mainsprings barrel in parallel for a 56-hour power reserve.

The Octa Reserve features central hours and minutes small seconds at 4:30, a large date at 11:30 and a power reserve indicator at 9 o’clock. The Octa line is equipped with the automatic Calibre 1300.3 with a remarkable power reserve of 120 hours.
The Octa Lune adds a moon phase aperture at 7 o'clock.
Each of these new models costs 1,000 Swiss Francs more of the corresponding model with brass dial.
The Chronomètre Souverain, the Octa Réserve and the Octa Lune with solid gold dials will be available worldwide in the 10 F.P.Journe Boutiques.
