As a preview of the novelties that will be presented at Baselworld 2014, Tag Heuer unveiled the new Carrera Drive Timer Calibre 5.
The typical Carrera case has a diameter of 43 mm and is available in stainless steel (ref. WAR2A10) or in black titanium carbide (ref. WAR2A80). The second crown at 10 o'clock controls the rotating inner flange which can be used as a 60-minute timer by synchronising it with the minute hand.
Pretty unusually for a Carrera, the black dial displays luminescent Arabic numerals and large luminous hour and minute hands somehow reminiscent of those used for pilot watches.
A black perforated calf-skin strap completes the sporty look of the watch which is water resistant to 100 metres.
Powered by the Sellita SW200-based Calibre 5 automatic movement offering 38 hours of power reserve, the Carrera Drive Timer is already available at the Tag Heuer boutiques with prices in the 2,500-3,000 Euro range.
